is an industry professional who currently casts a number of
television shows on CBC, CTV, YTV
and Family Channel,
as well as feature films
and commercials. Larissa also co-founded the successful Shakespeare Company
Theatre by the Bay
in 2001 in Barrie, Ont.
In Larissa’s workshop for people aged 13-19, participants will learn what is expected in the casting room and how to treat this industry as a business.
Skills gained through this workshop will build the confidence needed to go in and take command of any casting room!
Everyone will receive two contrasting scenes to prepare and present as if it were a real audition, followed by Larissa’s direction and valuable feedback.
In order to make participants feel comfortable with “cold reading”, everyone will also be given short sides to present with only 15 minutes preparation – which can sometimes happen at a real audition.
The class will take place in Toronto and go from 10:00am – 4:00pm. From 4:00pm – 4:45pm, there will be a question and answer period with the young actors and parents about the industry.
The total cost of each session is $125 (including tax). Payments to be made IN CASH ONLY.
The workshop will happen on Sunday, June 22nd.
